The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is regarded as one of the most prestigious furniture exhibitions in the world, with industrial design being just one of the many fields it covers. It displays current projects and artistic approaches for everything from furniture to transport.
To celebrate this year’s Salone del Mobile, COS have commissioned New York-based design studio Snarkitecture to create an interactive installation inspired by the Spring Summer 2015 collection. “As a brand which takes inspiration from the entire design world, to work with designers that combine art and architecture in their approach has been both exciting and refreshing,” said Martin Andersson, head of Menswear, in a statement. The designers at COS and Snarkitecture wanted to create a space that focused on the concept of reduction. As a result they made a pellucid cave from 100,000 meters of synthetic non-woven white fabric that, seemingly, imbues an effervescent quality.
